Busy few days...

Hey, guys! It's been a busy past few days! I have some fun embroidery inspired tutorials on the way! I'm hoping to post one next week.  Fooor now I have this free embroidery pattern for everyone, inspired by a summer family vacation to Florida.

While in Florida I had the chance to go to Universal Studios and step into Hogsmeade. I was dieing a Harry Potter fan girl death that day. I loved every moment of it! The rides were awesome and the shops were quirky and perfect! Exactly how I would have imagined them to be. All the little things made it really special, like the quill pens at the cash registers. It just made everything seem all the more real.

So here is a Sorting Hat pattern just for you!!Make yourself your own Hogwarts badge with your patron House. I myself am a Hufflepuff....and a total nerd if you didn't gather from this post. :)

Just print this picture out and you can trace it onto fabric with soluble pens or pencils. Replace the House names in the speech bubble with any house you want!

Here is a picture of my quickly made badge. Next time I think I'll use a darker fabric or a better shade of yellow. Or even do some applique on the hat and speech bubble. I had an extra button lying around so I used that for the hat's eye.

One day I will also get a better camera...

Hey there, Hi there!

Hi there! Welcome to my new blog and thank you for stopping by. To start off I should probably introduce myself. My name is Lindsey and I am a 21 year old lover of all things adorable! I’m a college student who is working on my Japanese and Media Computing Majors while enjoying crafts on the side, as much as I have time for.
(A little self portrait. And this is a real sweater! And yes, I do own it.)

Last spring I spent four months in the Kansai region of Japan. I was living in Hirakata and attending Kanasai Gaidai University for study abroad. I loved every second of it!
(A glimpse of a small part of the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. It was new year and very busy.)

Living in the country of kawaii has definitely gotten some of my creative juices flowing and has inspired a few new embroidery designs.
(The sign above Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Luckly it was a weekday and I made it down there before the crowds of school girls started.)

Annnnnd, speaking of embroidery, that’s my craft soul mate. I love embroidery to no end. I love doing it, looking at it, reading about it and designing new patterns for it. It’s the inspiration for this craft blog and will definitely be a big part. So, if you love embroidery too, you came to the right place! I’d love to talk books, cartoons, drawing, Japan and all things crafts with you guys! So don’t be afraid to comment. I hope to see you again soon!
